Today Nukoo decided to organize his entire life.
At first, it felt productive.
One big to do list became three smaller lists.
Then each list needed categories.
Then priorities.
Then cleaner handwriting.
Then even more lists.
But something unexpected happened.
Nukoo spent so much time organizing the tasks… that he never actually started them.
Psychologists sometimes call this “productive procrastination”.
It looks like progress because we are planning, sorting, and preparing. But deep down, the brain is often trying to avoid the discomfort of beginning.
Big lists can also overwhelm our working memory.
When too many tasks compete for attention at the same time, the brain struggles to decide where to start. Instead of feeling motivated, we freeze.
So maybe productivity is not about creating the perfect system.
Maybe it starts with something much smaller.
One task.
One action.
One tiny beginning.
